Iâm on vacation this week, so as a stand-in for the usual FIRE BTC, I thought Iâd share a few podcasts where I was a guest.
I always enjoy these conversations, and I hope they help explain some of the nuanced positions I hold and my thought process on how the FIRE movement and bitcoin work together.
đ§ Think Bitcoin
The first one is from the Think Bitcoin podcast with Logan Bollinger. Logan is a long-time FIRE proponent who also understands bitcoin. He and I have had many interactions on X about this topic. He brings a lot of interesting perspectives, so you should definitely give him a follow and check out his work.
Highlights:
A detailed explanation of why having a mortgage can actually give you more peace of mindâthanks to the benefits of debt debasement and the ability to hold extra liquid assets that accelerate wealth. This was also the topic of FIRE BTC #40, Peace of Mind.
How an artist or musician can approach FIRE with bitcoin, enabling them to master their craft and build a nest egg that supports pursuing their art more purposefully, without the constant distraction of trying to make ends meet.

đ Prescribing bitcoin
The next one is a conversation I had recently with Chris and Adam, the âOrange Pill Docs,â who host The Bitcoin Fellowship podcast. These MDs are on a mission to help physicians understand bitcoin and how to incorporate it into their personal finances. Theyâre doing a great job educating across both realms. They mentioned they got a lot of value from FIRE BTC #36, Making Your Job Your Side Gig, and invited me to join them to discuss how FIRE and bitcoin can help doctors better manage their finances.
Highlights:
Recognizing that pursuing FIRE is even possible is a powerful mindset shift. It opens up a whole world of opportunity, where physicians can be intentional about spending, start saving, and ultimately change the course of their livesâwith bitcoin as a powerful tool in that pursuit.
My perspective on how physicians think about money, drawn both from my experience working with them to secure bitcoin and from growing up with my father, a retired radiologist.

đ My bitcoin evangelism
The last one is a great conversation with Dr. Marc Kramer, whose show is called The Money Adjustment.
He âGrokâdâ me during the show, and Grok classified me as a âbitcoin evangelistâ. Hereâs how I responded to that designation.
Highlights:
Many investors are selling down their entire real estate portfolios and buying bitcoin because they can avoid tenants, leaky roofs, eminent domain, massive transaction costs, and property taxesâand still expect to massively outperform, so âwhy wouldnât I do that?â
Income always comes at the expense of total return; youâre better off investing for total return, letting compounding do the work, and later selling down when you need itââcapital gains becomes your income,â especially after a first-four-years âstacking sprint.â
You can put yourself into a position of creating a Renaissance-type commission for yourself by saving aggressively in the right toolâbitcoinâwhich also delivers self-sovereignty when you hold your own keys (even run your own node).

Thatâs it for this week â thanks for reading!
